Remember when the Orlando Magic and their fans were begging and pleading for Dwight Howard to stay in Central Florida?

Now, pathetically, the proud and storied Los Angeles Lakers are doing the same as NBA free agency commences today.

The Lakers have put up billboards around the LA area with a huge photo of Dwight and the word ''Stay.''

General manager Mitch Kupchak also told reporters when talking about Howard: ''The message is simple: we care about you and we want you to stay,'' Kupchak said.

Maybe L.A. fans need to take the parody song written by the Down Brothers -- a talented local Orlando band -- and rewrite the lyrics to make it Laker-centric.

In case you don't remember, click on the video below to hear the Down Brothers try and convince Dwight to stay in Orlando.
