Some league observers questioned whether Howard would make the first team after his stay-or-go saga this season created drama for his coaches and teammates and after he missed all but two games in April because of a herniated disk in his back.
But Howard still received 75 first-team votes and compiled 476 total points in the voting.
He scored 20.6 points per game, and he collected 14.5 rebounds per game to win the league rebounding title.
No Magic player besides Howard received a vote.
