Triple-A Norfolk

RHP Mike Wright posted his first win since May 6 with seven innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts in a 3-1 win over Columbus on Friday. Wright is 2-9 with a 6.16 ERA in 20 starts, and had lost nine straight since his last victory. … OF Dariel Alvarez had hits in his first four games in Norfolk; he is batting .278 with six RBIs entering Saturday's games. 1B Christian Walker, who was also promoted at the All-Star break, is hitting .345 with three doubles and 6 RBIs in nine games entering Saturday's action. … IF Jimmy Paredes, whom the Orioles acquired this week from Kansas City, had two hits and two RBIs in his debut Friday.

Burgess played in Double-A in the Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros systems. … LHP Zach Davies struck out seven and allowed a run on five hits in seven innings Thursday in a 9-1 win over Altoona. Davies has struck out seven or more in six of his 14 appearances this year. … OF Mike Yastrzemski posted four multi-hit games in his first nine contests with Bowie.

Frederick's 10 runs were the team's most since a 17-3 win July 5. … RHP Mark Blackmar won his sixth straight decision Monday against Winston-Salem after he went 52/3 innings and allowed one earned run on six hits. He is 6-1 with a 3.63 ERA in 20 appearances (12 starts). … RHP Jon Keller, who was 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA in Delmarva, made his Carolina League debut Monday; he struck out five and allowed a run on three hits.

Gonzalez struck out eight and has not allowed a run in 141/3 innings over his past three starts. He is 5-0 with a 2.44 ERA in 12 games this year. … RHP Hunter Harvey picked up his fifth loss of the year Friday when he allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings in a 4-2 loss at Rome. … C Chance Sisco had his 18-game hitting streak end last Saturday against Hagerstown, but has rebounded with hits in three straight games entering Saturday's action. He's batting .343 on the year.

LHP Stephen Tarpley, the Orioles' third-round pick in 2013, got his first professional win and helped the Ironbirds halt a seven-game losing streak with Tuesday's 7-6 win over Brooklyn. Tarpley struck out a career-high seven batters in six innings while allowing two earned runs on four hits. … 2014 fourth-round pick RHP Pat Connaughton allowed a run on two hits in one inning Wednesday, bringing his ERA for the season to 3.60 on the year. … OF Jamil Moquete is raising his batting average after a dismal June; he had two home runs and was 4-for-17 this week entering Saturday. Moquete is tied with 1B Hector Veloz with a team-leading four home runs.
