Orioles (19-47) vs. Red Sox (46-22)

Where: Camden Yards

First pitch: 3:05 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Yefry Ramirez (NR) vs. Red Sox LHP Chris Sale (5-4, 2.83 ERA)

What to watch

1. Major league debut alert. Yefry Ramirez, 24, is set to make his big league debut Wednesday as the Orioles starter after opening the season 3-4 with a 4.33 ERA in 12 starts at Triple-A Norfolk. Ramirez was acquired from the New York Yankees at last year’s nonwaiver trade deadline. This will mark his second stint in the majors, but he didn’t appear in a game during his first.

2. One of the best. Ramirez will be pitching opposite Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale, one of the best in the game. Sale is coming off perhaps his best start of the season, in which he allowed one run on six hits while striking out 10 in eight innings. That followed his only rough patch of 2018 — a two-start stretch in which he gave up 10 runs in 10 1/3 innings. Outside of that, the six-time All-Star has held teams to three runs or fewer in each of his other 12 starts this season.

3. Bust the brooms. With six straight losses, the Orioles sink further into the abyss, now 28 games under .500. They’ll be looking to avoid their second straight sweep coming off four losses in Toronto over the weekend. The Orioles will have to do it with Adam Jones and Chris Davis coming off the bench.
