Orioles (71-74) vs. Blue Jays (68-77)

Where: Rogers Centre

First pitch: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (10-10, 4.99 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RHP Marcus Stroman (11-7, 3.18)

What to watch

1. Giving it all back. The Orioles are about to give their entire season-extending seven-game winning streak back if they lose tonight in Toronto. Their losing has finally bitten them in the playoff race, as they’ve slipped to 4½ games back with 17 games to go — slimming their playoff odds to 1.1 percent per FanGraphs.

2. Harping on the offense. There’s a reason this topic has taken up a more permanent spot in this feature of late. The Orioles have gone from one of their best months ever at the plate to hitting .213 with a major league-worst 29 runs and .609 OPS this month. They’re still hitting homers, but they’ve simply stopped scoring. Will this be the night they break out at the plate?

3. Well rested. Kevin Gausman hasn’t pitched since Thursday as he takes the mound looking to bounce back from his worst start since mid-July. Gausman is still having a stellar second half, going 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA in his past 10 starts. But he has wavered some of late, with a 4.36 ERA over his past six games.
