What to watch
1. Happy anniversary. Be in your seats early — as in by 6 p.m. — as the Orioles celebrate the 25th anniversary of Camden Yards with a Home Run Derby involving members of the 1992 team as well as a special pregame ceremony. See if Cal Ripken Jr. was right, that Brady Anderson set up the derby field so he could win.
2. Sub-5.00 opportunity. Kevin Gausman takes the mound with a chance to get his ERA under 5.00 for the first time since his third start of the season. If Gausman keeps pitching the way he has for most of the past month, that’s a realistic possibility. The right-hander has a 1.80 ERA over his past six starts to bring his ERA from 6.39 to 5.08.
3. Macho carryover. The Orioles and Angels combined for 10 home runs Friday night, five apiece, with Manny Machado hitting three to lead the way. The biggest was the last swing of the game — a walk-off grand slam with the Orioles trailing by two in the ninth. Machado now has three grand slams in his past 11 games, and 28 RBIs in his past 15 games. Can keep it going tonight against the Angels? The Orioles might need it with Chris Davis and Welington Castillo again out of the lineup because of illness.
