Right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, who has been on the disabled list since July 13 with a right ankle sprain, will join the Orioles in Washington, D.C., on Monday for their makeup game against the Nationals and then fly with the team to Toronto on Tuesday.
Showalter wouldn’t specify what the plan is after that, but Jimenez is not scheduled to start against the Blue Jays.
Jimenez, who is 3-8 with a 4.52 ERA in 18 starts for the Orioles, pitched in his second and final injury rehabilitation game Sunday night. Pitching for Triple-A Norfolk, he allowed one run and five hits in six innings. Jimenez struck out three batters and walked two, throwing 59 of his 94 pitches for strikes. His first rehab start came at short-season Single-A Aberdeen on Tuesday, when he allowed one unearned run in 4 2/3 innings.

“He’s champing at the bit to get back. You can tell,” Showalter said of Jimenez. “He wasn’t overly enamored with him doing [another rehab start], but we are trying to get him up to 100 pitches.”
