Rogers Centre is 'dome sweet dome' for Orioles center fielder Adam Jones

Adam Jones likes playing in Toronto.

The Orioles center fielder launched a moonshot that hit off the bottom railing of the third deck of the Rogers Centre in the seventh inning of the Orioles’ 6-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon.

Jones, who now has nine homers this season, has homered in each of the first three games of the series here in Toronto. Saturday’s blast was his eighth homer at the Rogers Centre since the beginning of the 2012 season, most of any opposing player in that span.

Jones also has 19 career homers against the Blue Jays, third-most of any player since the start of 2006, when Jones made his major league debut.

After the Orioles and Blue Jays scored 45 runs in the first three games of the series, we know the Rogers Centre is a hitters’ ballpark.

But for Adam Jones -- who once had trouble getting into Canada because customs officials confused him with football player Adam “Pacman” Jones -- there’s a legitimate reason why the Blue Jays should stop him from entering the country -- he crushes them.

“I just see the ball good here,” Jones said. “I don’t think it’s anything in particular. It’s baseball. Crazy things happen. Just got to keep the streak up hopefully.”

Other notes that came out of Saturday’s win:

--  First baseman Chris Davis’ RBI double in the first inning was his 33rd extra-base hit in 57 hits this season.

-- Danny Valencia, who hit his second two-run homer in as many days, hit homers in consecutive games for the first time since June 17-18, 2011.

-- Right fielder Nick Markakis extending his hit streak to 10 games. He’s hitting .372 (16-for-43) in that span.

-- The Orioles have recorded two two-error games this series. They only had two two-error games all season entering the series.
