First pitch of Thursday's Orioles-Yankees game has been delayed due to rain -- a heavy downpour, in fact.

We are now being told that first pitch is tentatively scheduled for 8:20 p.m.

The Orioles are still expected to hold a brief, pre-game ceremony for Yankees retiring closer Mariano Rivera. Orioles manager Buck Showalter will be presenting Rivera with a gift -- but specifics have not been revealed. The ceremony start time is estimated at 8:11 p.m.

If the game needs to be postponed, it likely would be made up Monday, which is a scheduled off day for both teams. On Monday, both clubs would be in between trips to Boston and Toronto.

The Orioles would prefer getting this one in now, however.
