The Orioles will open the 2014 season at Camden Yards on March 31 against the Boston Red Sox, according to an industry source.
There will be an off day following the Monday opener — to account for a possible rainout — and the series against Boston will continue on Wednesday and Thursday.
Preliminary 2014 schedules have been out for several weeks, but the schedule has just been finalized. It has not yet been released by Major League Baseball or the clubs.
The Orioles have won their past three Opening Day games, including this year’s 7-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Next year will be the first time the Orioles open the season against Boston since 2004, when the Orioles beat the Red Sox, 7-2, at Camden Yards.
The Orioles have won six of their past seven series against the Red Sox heading into the three-game set at Fenway Park that begins tonight.
The news about next year’s Opening Day opponent was first reported by MASN.
