ANAHEIM, Calif – After winning the opener of their three-game series at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, the Orioles will turn to Orange County resident Miguel Gonzalez to lead them to victory against the Los Angeles Angels tonight.

The Orioles recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Norfolk before tonight's game and optioned right-handed relief pitcher Preston Guilmet to the Tides.

Gonzalez pitched eight innings in each of his final two major league starts before the All-Star break, but he didn't factor into the decision in either game. In his career, he is 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA in three starts against the Angels.

The Orioles have won 13 of their last 19 road games. In that span, they are averaging 5.5 runs per game and have a 3.53 team ERA.

They won last night despite striking out 15 times. It was the second straight time they have won when that has happened (Oct. 2, 2012 against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field).
