The Orioles activated left-hander Troy Patton between the two games of the doubleheader Thursday after he completed a 25-game suspension for testing positive for Adderall use.
The Orioles' first game Thursday was their 25th of the season, meaning Patton had to be activated before the nightcap.
To make room for Patton on the roster, the club outrighted right-hander Josh Stinson, who cleared waivers, to Triple-A Norfolk. Stinson had a 7.15 ERA in 11 1/3 innings over seven appearances with the Orioles this year.

Manny Machado is batting second and playing third base in the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader, his first game for the Orioles since he injured his knee last year and had offseason surgery.
Matt Wieters, David Lough, and Jonathan Schoop are the other three players in the lineup for the nightcap who didn’t play in the first game.
