2013 stats: .251 average/.313 on-base/.454 slugging, 11 homers, 23 RBIs in 56 games
Contract: Free agent after season; roughly $2.4 million left in 2013
Why he fits: The Orioles have liked Morse for years. They were hoping to get him last offseason before he ended up in Seattle. He can bash lefties -- the Orioles have hit .245 against southpawsthis season, 23 points lower than their average versus right-handers -- and he can play outfield and first base if needed. But he hadn't played since June 20 after suffering a quadriceps injury. He was activated from the DL on Monday.
Connolly's take: He fits in the lineup. And would fit in the clubhouse -- he is buddies with Adam Jones, his former teammate in the Mariners organization. But the Orioles would be taking a chance that he can stay healthy.
