The Orioles are continuing to sign their amateur picks, with ninth-rounder Mitch Horacek from Dartmouth University agreeing to a $100,000 bonus.
The club has now agreed to terms with 10 of its top 15 – though not all have been announced yet.
Of the club’s top 12 picks earlier this month (through 11 rounds), only No. 1 Hunter Harvey, supplemental first rounder Josh Hart, fourth-rounder Jonah Heim and seventh-rounder Drew Dosch have not agreed to terms.
The Orioles have exchanged numbers with Hart and are expected to do that soon with Harvey and Heim. They have until July 12 to sign their draft picks.
Second-rounder Chance Sisco, a high school catcher from California, is expected to have his physical today, with the announcement of his signing coming later this week.
Horacek, a junior left-hander out of Dartmouth, is already at the club’s minor league complex in Florida. A 6-foot-5, 185-pounder who was drafted out of a Colorado high school by the Colorado Rockies in the 46th round in 2010, Horacek signed with the Orioles for $100,000, which is $41,900 under the slot recommendation for the 279th pick in the draft.
