Count Orioles first-round draft pick Kevin Gausman among those devastated by the news that snack food company Hostess is closing its doors.

Other than his promise as a future front-line, right-handed starter, Gausman -- the fourth overall pick in June's draft out of LSU -- is known for having a quirky set of superstitions.

Among them is eating four powdered mini-doughnuts before innings when he pitches. His preferred mini-doughnut of choice is Hostess' powdered Donettes.

On Friday morning, Hostess abruptly announced it was ceasing operations in the midst of a bakers strike.

The news sent Gausman into panic. He tweeted:

"Ok I need to go out to every grocery store and get Powdered Hostess Donnetts pronto!!!! Can't believe they are going out of business. #Sad"

Gausman, signed to a $4.32 million signing bonus, made six professional starts this past season, culminating with three shutout innings for Double-A Bowie in the Eastern League playoffs.

Baseball America recently ranked Gausman as the Orioles' No. 2 prospect.
