Right-hander Dylan Bundy, the Orioles’ top prospect, suffered a setback Monday in his throwing progression as he worked to return from the right forearm and elbow stiffness that has sidelined him for the entire regular season.
Bundy threw from 120 feet Monday, and the soreness returned. The 20-year-old is scheduled to see Dr. John Wilckens on Tuesday in Baltimore, and he is expected to see Dr. James Andrews soon as well.
Bundy received a platelet-rich plasma injection from Andrews on April 29 to combat the tightness in his right arm. Andrews cleared Bundy to throw June 3, and the fourth overall pick of the 2011 draft began throwing again June 10. He hasn’t thrown off a mound since late March.
