The Orioles assigned top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy to low Class-A Delmarva this season so he could gradually climb through the ranks of the minor leagues one level at a time.

But following a dominating pro debut with the Shorebirds, it will be interesting to see how long he stays in the South Atlantic League.

Bundy made his highly anticipated debut Friday night, throwing three perfect shutout innings for Delmarva in a 7-2 road win over Ashville at McCormick Field.

The 19-year-old Bundy, the No. 4 overall pick in last year's draft, struck out six of the nine hitters he faced, including all three in the first inning. He allowed just one ball to reach the outfield in his three innings of work.

Bundy said his fastball reached 97 mph multiple times and peaked at 98.

"I felt great, went out there and competed," Bundy told MiLB.com. "Threw my fastball mainly. For the first two innings, it was all I threw, but it felt good to be on the mound, see hitters in a live game for the first time since high school."
