The Orioles are going for their first three-game sweep of the Rays today in Baltimore since since July 24-26, 2007.
Thanks to wins in the first two games of this series, Baltimore (22-12) sits two games in front of the Rays (20-14) atop the AL East standings.
The Orioles have purchased the contract of outfielder Xavier Avery from Triple-A Norfolk, and Avery will be making his major league debut today, leading off and playing center field.

Avery was a non-roster invitee who played often this spring, even after he was sent back to minor league camp. He showed the Orioles a lot with his athleticism and upside as an outfielder.
In today's pregame, Orioles manager Buck Showater said he still has Jason Hammel slated to start Monday's game against the Yankees. Hammel missed his last scheduled start Thursday with regressing right-knee soreness.
Left fielder Nolan Reimold will see the team doctor Monday to evaluate how he's responding to getting an epidural Friday for the bulging disk in his neck. Reimold said he's still feeling tingling in his hands, but that he was told the epidural takes three to five days to take effect.
Outfielder Endy Chavez (intercostal strain) will go to Sarasota to begin rehab with the team hits the road this week. Third baseman Mark Reynolds (oblique strain) could also go to Sarasota. Reimold and right-handed reliever Matt Lindstrom could also join them eventually.
