Orioles (44-49) vs. Rangers (45-48)

Where: Camden Yards

First pitch: 7:05 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (5-7, 6.39 ERA) vs. Rangers LHP Martin Perez (5-6, 4.55 ERA)

What to watch

1. Pass the baton. Over the first two games of this four-game visit from the Rangers, Chris Tillman and Dylan Bundy have combined to allow two runs on six hits in 12 innings after a nightmarish series for the rotation. Kevin Gausman's 71 earned runs are the most allowed by any pitcher this season, and he has allowed 12 in seven innings over his past two starts. See if he can slow that spiral by continuting what Tillman and Bundy started against the Rangers.

2. Chris crushesChris Davis spent a month on the disabled list rehabilitating a strained oblique and hadn't homered since June 10 -- before hitting two and driving in six runs Tuesday. Davis has long been as streaky as they come. Watch tonight to see if Tuesday's display was the start of something bigger.

3. Standings check. The Orioles' two straight wins have them still at least in the playoff conversation even though they remain five games under .500. They're 4 1/2 games out of a wild-card spot and gaining on the six teams between themselves and the postseason. See if they can close the gap further against one of the teams they're pursuing.
