SARASOTA, Fla. — The Orioles will play their Grapefruit League home opener at 1:05 p.m. today at Ed Smith Stadium against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The game will be broadcast live on television on MASN and WBAL-AM 1090.

Nelson Cruz will make his Orioles spring debut today, hitting second at designated hitter.

Right-hander Miguel Gonzalez will start today.

Here is the Orioles’ starting lineup today:

Davis Lough LF
Nelson Cruz DH
Chris Davis 1B
Adam Jones CF
Nick Markakis RF
J.J. Hardy SS
Matt Wieters C
Ryan Flaherty 2B
Alex Gonzalez 3B

-- Left-hander Mike Belfiore, who has a hairline fracture on the fingertip of his left pinky finger, said it didn’t hinder him during his spring debut Friday. Belfiore said the injury affects only his grip on changeups, but he was able to throw several Friday. Belfiore allowed three consecutive two-out singles and gave up a run in the seventh inning.

-- Quintin Berry also said he’s fully recovered from back spasms that forced him to leave a workout this past week. He’s not listed among the available bench players for today’s game.
