Here's how the Orioles fared in previous seasons in which they made the playoffs.
On April 9, 1983, the Orioles fell to 1-2 after suffering an 8-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians with an announced 52,150 in attendance at Cleveland Stadium. It was the last time the Orioles would be below .500 as they marched to their third World Series title that season. The Orioles had two seven-game losing streaks that year (May 20 to May 26 and Aug. 6 to Aug. 12), but they also had an eight-game winning streak from Aug. 24 to Aug. 31.
