The Orioles have not yet made an offer to a pitching coach candidate, according to executive vice president Dan Duquette, but he said the team still hopes to have a resolution this week.

“We have a few more things to do with our search, a little more due diligence on the candidates,” Duquette said. “We’re getting there, making some progress. Hopefully, it will be done by the end of the month [Thursday].”

The Orioles appear to be choosing among four candidates: former Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee, Seattle Mariners pitching coach Carl Willis, Atlanta Braves minor league pitching coordinator Dave Wallace and Texas Rangers bullpen coach Andy Hawkins.

“We have some good, qualified candidates,” Duquette said. “We just want to make sure we get the strongest pitching program we can have to be competitive.”

Former Orioles pitching coach Rick Adair, who took a leave of absence for personal reasons in August, will not be returning to the team.
