Orioles CF Adam Jones making a habit of extra-inning heroics

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he likes having the game in Adam Jones' hands.

There's no wonder why. Jones has delivered in the clutch this season. Even during his biggest slump of the season -- Jones snapped an 0-for-18 slump with a ninth-inning single -- he still wanted to be aggressive at the plate.

"Oh my gosh!" he said. "Getting a little frustrated there. One thing I'm not going to do is stop swinging the bat. It's part of who I am, it's the reason I got to the  big leagues."

Jones' two-run walk-off home run in the 12th inning Saturday gave the Orioles a 6-4 win over the Phillies. It was also the third time Jones has hit a game-winning homer for the Orioles this season.

"I think we like to play a lot longer than the nine innings," Jones said about the Orioles' eighth straight extra-inning win. "We enjoy that. We enjoy the overtime. I don't know, man. I think we're on the pace to play the most innings by any team this year. Hey, that's part of the game. If we don't win it in nine, hopefully we can win it 12, 15 or 17."

Funny that Jones picks those numbers -- 12th, 15th and 17th -- because that's when he has hit his extra-inning homers.

Here's a closer look at Jones' three extra-inning game-winning homers:
