Skinny: Bundy turned out two more efficient starts this week, tossing five innings in two wins. In Saturday's 3-0 victory over Myrtle Beach, the right-hander gave up just two hits and two walks. Five days later, he scattered four hits and a run over five while striking out five, as well. In his next start, scheduled for Wednesday, Bundy will be limited to 60 pitches or four innings so he can pitch in the July 8 Futures Game in Kansas City. A MRI did not show a tear of the medial meniscus and Delmonico, who is on the 7-day DL, should not be sidelined long. He was injured when a baserunner slid into him at second base while attempting to break up a double play.
The 19-year-old Delmonico, whom the Orioles selected in the sixth round in 2011 out of a Tennessee high school, was recently named the MVP of the 2012 South Atlantic League All-Star team.
He is hitting .254/.351/.402 with 20 doubles, 6 homers and 43 RBIs this season for the Shorebirds. Baseball America named Delmonico the organization’s sixth best prospect heading into this season.
