Frederick Keys expecting big crowd on Friday night for Manny Machado's first minor league rehab game

TORONTO -- Expect a capacity crowd at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick when Orioles third baseman Manny Machado begins his minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Frederick on Friday night.

Tickets for Friday night’s game are going fast. About 70 percent of reserved seating was sold out as of Thursday morning, and there is a limited number of general admission seats still available.

The Keys are expecting a standing-room crowd for the game, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

Before the day of the game, tickets range from $9 to $12 ($6 to $7 for kids ages 3 to 12, seniors and active military) and are $11 to 14 ($8 to $9 for kids ages 3 to 12, seniors and military) on the day of the game.

Machado is expected to start at third base Friday and play a full nine innings. He is expected to also play Saturday and Sunday at Frederick, and tickets for those games are also going quickly.

Sunday’s game will likely be the last time Orioles fans will get to see Machado locally until he returns to the big league club. Following Sunday’s game, Machado will likely move up to Double-A Bowie, which plays on the road at Richmond, or report to Triple-A Norfolk, which plays at home.

Gates for Friday’s game at Harry Grove Stadium open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. start.
