Sports intersected with politics when the Orioles held an exhibition series with the Cuban national team. The etams played a game in Havana in March -- with Angelos watching the game sitting beside Fidel Castro -- and another in Baltimore in May. As for the regular season, the Orioles again finished fourth, and Miller was fired at season's end, as was general manager Frank Wren.
