The Orioles announced Monday that right-hander Chris Tillman has been selected as the fans' choice bobblehead this year.
The team plans to give the bobblehead to the first 25,000 fans ages 15 and over who attend the 1:35 p.m. game Sept. 21 against the Boston Red Sox at Camden Yards. For the third straight year, fans selected the player to be honored with the bobblehead giveaway.
Tillman, who will be recognized with his first bobblehead as a member of the Orioles, beat out right-handers Tommy Hunter, Ubaldo Jimenez and Darren O'Day in voting that began April 3 and ended May 12.
Also, the Orioles announced that Greg Vasas, of Pasadena, won a VIP experience that includes four lower box tickets to the Sept. 21 game, an autographed bobblehead and pregame recognition on the field. Each time a fan voted using a mobile device, he/she received a chance to win the VIP experience, according to the team.
