Orioles top prospect Dylan Bundy was among the eight players cut from the Orioles big league camp travel roster.

Bundy, who threw a scoreless inning in relief against the Red Sox, was optioned to Class-A Delmarva. Because Bundy signed a major league contract last August after he was the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft, the move counts as the first of his three minor league options.

It also is an indicator that the flame-throwing right hander will begin his pro career in the South Atlantic League.

Bundy threw two innings in Sunday's B game against the Red Sox and also pitched a scoreless inning in an intrasquad game last weekend.

Orioles third baseman Josh Bell and second baseman Ryan Adams, both members of the Orioles 40-man roster, were optioned to Triple-A Norfolk,

Bell played in five spring games, going 2-for-11 with six strikeouts and two walks. Adams played in six games and was 1-for-11 with three strikeouts and two walks.

All three will report to the team's minor league camp at Twin Lakes Park, as will outfielders L.J. Hoes and Xavier Avery, catchers Brian Ward and Michael Ohlman and right-handed pitcher Steve Johnson.

The Orioles' top position player prospect, shortstop Manny Machado, will also return to minor league camp, but he doesn't count as a cut because he was never technically invited.
