Left fielder Nolan Reimold was out of the lineup Saturday due to reoccurring neck spasms, which cost him a game Thursday as well.
Reimold had three hits Friday against the Angels, including a two-run homer, but said he started feeling the spasms return as the game progressed.
“It got steadily worse throughout the game and just flared up after the game pretty bad once I started cooling down,” said Reimold, who has five homers and nine RBIs on the road trip. “When I woke up (Saturday) it was really there.”
Reimold saw a chiropractor for a second consecutive day and also received treatment from the team’s athletic trainers. He was having trouble moving his head up and down a few hours before the game. He’s had neck spasms before, but they haven’t lasted this long.
“I had it once last year like this, but I did treatment on it and it calmed down pretty quick,” he said. “This one, I just calmed it down enough to play (Friday) and then after the game it flared back up pretty bad.”
He said he is considered day-to-day but it wouldn’t be surprising if Reimold rests Sunday and Monday’s off day before he is re-evaluated Tuesday.
