The end of Baltimore native Michael Phelps' record-breaking career highlights the fans' choices for Sports Illustrated's Top 5 Moments of the Year for 2012.
Phelps will appear on the cover of the magazine's year-end issue.
This will be the eighth time Phelps has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, according to the magazine, and he was also named SI Sportsman of The Year in 2008.
