Paralympic track champion Tatyana McFadden has skied her way into the winter Paralympics.
McFadden, a December graduate of the University of Illinois, was named Wednesday to the U.S. Paralympic cross-country ski team that will compete in Sochi, Russia, March. 7-16.
McFadden is one of the leading wheelchair track racers and marathoners in history. Last year, she made an unprecedented sweep of the titles at the Boston, London, New York and Chicago marathons.
She was one of four women named to the U.S. team in Nordic skiing. which also encompasses biathlon in the Paralympics.
McFadden, orphaned as an infant born with spina bifida in Russia, was adopted by a Maryland family at age seven.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
