August 19, 2008: Track and failed I think I'm pretty good at shooting sports, well, at least that's what my mom says. But when it comes to track and field, I struggle. Mostly I struggle with identifying the runner in the lead during races like the 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter run. Those races were run Tuesday night and I was focused on the wrong woman crossing the finish both times. First in the women's 400m final, I was documenting the battle between USA's Sanya Richards and Jamaica's Shericka Williams as they approached the finish line. Unbeknownst to me, two lanes over Great Britain's Christine Ohurugo was winning the race. Luckily, in track and field there are plenty of post-race photo opportunities, so I was able to photograph the Brit lying on the track while celebrating.
