Let's get physical

After finishing up at the pool, I decided to head over to the Yingdong Natatorium, now that's a name, for the USA/Croatia water polo match. I hadn't yet photographed water polo, or water ball, as the lovely young Chinese volunteer called it on the bus ride over. Due to the lateness of the swimming and a slow bus ride, I didn't get to the match until midway through the 3rd quarter. I nabbed a photo position at the end of the pool and started shooting.<br>

Water polo rocks! It is incredibly physical and it involves splashing water which makes it fabulous in my mind. I shot very tight in hopes of capturing the battles that go on in front of the net. The USA ended up winning 7-5 behind 3 goals by Tony Azevedo. I photographed him winding up for one of his rocket shot goals. It was a thing of beauty.
