Move over Mark Spitz

Michael Phelps won his eighth gold medal as part of the United States team that won the 4x100 medley relay on Sunday morning in Beijing. With the win, Phelps surpassed Mark Spitz's gold medal record of seven golds at one Olympics. The United States team broke the world record with a time of 3:29.34. Australia won the silver and Japan too the bronze. Spitz won his golds in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany.
