Anthony helps Nuggets top Pacers, 113-106

Carmelo Anthony (Towson Catholic) had 32 points and 10 rebounds to rally the Denver Nuggets to a 113-106 road victory over the Indiana Pacers last night.

Allen Iverson added 27 points and 10 assists, and Linas Kleiza scored 12 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter for the Nuggets (4-3), who trailed by 25 in the first half.

• Celtics 112, Nets 101 // Boston won one for Doc Rivers and sent New Jersey a message in the process. Hours after attending the funeral of his father in Illinois, Rivers saw the new-look Celtics remain the NBA's only undefeated team. The victory was the fifth straight for Boston, which is off to its best start since winning six in a row to start the 1987-88 season. Vince Carter sprained his right ankle late in the third quarter.

• Suns 106, Magic 96 // Leandro Barbosa scored a career-high 39 points and Phoenix beat host Orlando, withstanding a 33-point, 18-rebound effort by Dwight Howard.

• Raptors 101, Bulls 71 // Carlos Delfino scored 16 points and Chris Bosh added 14 points and six rebounds to help Toronto beat host Chicago.

• Jazz 118, Grizzlies 94 // Carlos Boozer scored 31 points and Deron Williams had 20 points and 13 assists to lead host Utah over sloppy Memphis.

• Kings 100, Timberwolves 93 // Sacramento held off Minnesota with the help of Kevin Martin's 29 points. Theo Ratliff had seven rebounds and 14 points for the Timberwolves.

• Trail Blazers 91, Mavericks 82 // Brandon Roy scored a career-high 32 points and added seven assists and Portland (3-3) ended a 13-game losing streak to Dallas.

Off the court

• Bobcats // Charlotte forward Adam Morrison underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Morrison suffered the season-ending injury in an exhibition game Oct. 20. Morrison is expected to be healthy by next fall.
