Knicks drop Nuggets with big comeback

Yao's 28 points help Rockets defeat Spurs

The New York Knicks found a better way to fight back against the Denver Nuggets.

Zach Randolph had 22 points and 17 rebounds, three others scored more than 20 points and New York erased a 15-point deficit to win, 119-112, last night in Denver's first trip to Madison Square Garden since last year's brawl.

Seemingly on the verge of being run off the floor in the same way they were before losing their cool 11 months ago, the Knicks instead blew by the Nuggets, outscoring them 37-20 in the fourth quarter.

Allen Iverson scored 32 points and Carmelo Anthony (Towson Catholic) had 24 for Denver.

• Rockets 89, Spurs 81 // Yao Ming had 28 points and 13 rebounds to lift Houston over visiting San Antonio. Bonzi Wells added 14 points and 15 rebounds for Houston, which controlled Tim Duncan and out-rebounded the Spurs 55-28. Duncan had 14 points and 10 reboundsbut went 5-for-15 from the field.

• Clippers 97, Bulls 91 // Cuttino Mobley scored 33 points and Corey Maggette added 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead visiting Los Angeles over Chicago. Luol Deng scored 22 points for Chicago and Joe Smith (Maryland) added 17 points off the bench.

• Suns 115, Bobcats 83 // Leandro Barbosa, Raja Bell and Shawn Marion led five others in double figures with 16 points apiece as visiting Phoenix dominated Charlotte. The Suns, playing their second straight game without Amare Stoudemire (knee), put the game away by halftime.

• Nets 87, Hawks 82 // Richard Jefferson scored 25 points and Antoine Wright added 15 to lead host New Jersey over Atlanta.

• Bucks 112, Raptors 85 // Desmond Mason was 10-for-10 from the field and scored 21 points as host Milwaukee cruised past Toronto. Raptors star forward Chris Bosh scored only one point. Juan Dixon (Maryland, Calvert Hall) led the Raptors with 20 points.

• Magic 111, Timberwolves 103 // Dwight Howard scored 28 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in Orlando's victory over host Minnesota. Al Jefferson led the Timberwolves with 25 points.

• Kings 104, SuperSonics 98 // Francisco Garcia hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 29 seconds to play, lifting host Sacramento over Seattle.

• Hornets 118, Lakers 104 // Peja Stojakovic scored 36 points and Chris Paul had 21 assists to lead New Orleans over host Los Angeles.

• Cavaliers 108, Warriors 104 // LeBron James had 24 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists as visiting Cleveland got past Golden State.

• Ticket prices // The average price of a Lakers season ticket is $89.24, highest in the NBA, according to Team Marketing Report's survey. That's an increase of 4.5 percent from last season. The average ticket price climbed 3.6 percent, an increase of about $2, to $48.83. The Hornets, in their first season back in New Orleans, charge a league-low $24.58.
