Frank McCourt throws a ceremonial pitch while being introduced as the Dodgers' new owner on Jan. 29, 2004. Major League Baseball unanimously approved the sale of the team to McCourt for $430 million from News Corp. It was a leveraged deal financed mostly by debt. In McCourt's first season, the Dodgers win 93 games and the National League West Division title for the first time since 1995.
