<b>What happened</b>: With two out in the bottom of the ninth, Gibson limped to the plate and hit a game-winning, pinch-hit two-run home run off of Oakland closer Dennis Eckersley, giving the Dodgers a 5-4 win. The Dodgers went on to win the championship in five games. It was Gibson’s only at-bat of the World Series.
