Justin Guterding, Duke
Garden City, N.Y., attackman, senior
The No. 4 seed Blue Devils’ run to their first NCAA Division I tournament semifinal since capturing the championship in 2014 has been fueled by Guterding. After compiling two goals and one assist in a 17-11 rout of Villanova in the first round, the 6-foot, 185-pound Tewaaraton Award finalist had three goals and two assists in Sunday’s 14-9 victory over No. 5 seed Johns Hopkins in the quarterfinals. Guterding has scored 207 goals in his career, eclipsing the NCAA record of 206 set by former Blue Devils attackman Zack Greer (2005-2008). Guterding also posted his 104th point of the year, setting the school’s single-season record, previously owned by former attackman Jordan Wolf, who had 103 points in 2014.
