The No. 2 seed Blue Jays’ run to their first Big Ten tournament championship since 2015 was anchored by Turnbaugh. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Hereford graduate made a career-high-tying 16 saves in Thursday night’s 6-5 win against No. 3 seed Ohio State in the semifinal round. He followed up that performance by turning aside 14 shots in Saturday night’s 13-10 victory over top-seeded Maryland in the title game. Turnbaugh finished with a .667 save percentage in the two games and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Turnbaugh, who helped propel Johns Hopkins to the No. 5 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament, ranks 23rd in Division I in goals-against average (9.30) and 24th in save percentage (.524).
