All six teams dream of winning an NCAA title. All six have at-large worthy resumes, considering that the Atlantic Coast Conference is 33-4 out-of-conference. Maryland (3-1) sits in the catbird seat with wins over Syracuse, Duke and Virginia. Duke has speedy Jordan Wolf and a coach with a treasure map to the gold trophy. Syracuse is loaded, but faceoffs are sold separately. Virginia just must learn to play for 60 minutes. Notre Dame has its most athletic team ever. North Carolina has been snakebit in the NCAA quarterfinals but is two goals away from being undefeated.
For the first time, the ACC tournament comes with an automatic qualifier for the NCAAs.
