Goalie Greg Dutton (Calvert Hall) and defenseman Joe Meurer (McDonogh), both seniors on the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team, will serve as captains, the team announced.
Dutton is a two-time All-Eastern College Athletic Conference second-team selection and was a 2013 ECAC All-Tournament team choice, leading the Buckeyes to the league tournament title and an NCAA berth. He was 16th nationally in goals-against average in 2013 (8.96).
Meurer was voted the team’s Defensive Most Valuable Player in 2013 and was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American and an All-ECAC first-team selection.
Chesapeake-AA's Brennan commits
Chesapeake-Anne Arundel junior attackman Pat Brennan has committed orally to UMBC. The 5-foot-7, 140-pound recruit has tallied 47 points in each of his last two seasons, earning second team All-County honors. He plays club for the Baltimore Crabs.
Among other commitments, South River junior midfielder Grant Maloof picked Towson. Maloof helped lead the Seahawks to a runner-up finish in the state last season.

Lakers second in Laxie vote
Boys' Latin finished second to Ward Melville High of Long Island, N.Y., in the fan voting for Inside Lacrosse's Laxie award for High School Team of the Year. The Lakers received 29 percent of the vote, while Ward Melville had 30 percent.
In third place was Loyola, which upset the Dons, 10-9, in May's Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship game. That win was third in the voting for Upset of the Year.
UVa. flag football tourney to honor Barrow
The annual Will Barrow Memorial Flag Football Tournament will be held at Virginia's Lambeth Field in Charlottesville on Nov. 9, with all proceeds going to the HELP Line, a nonprofit, student-run crisis hotline. Play is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
The HELP Line is an anonymous, confidential telephone service serving the residents of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia. It is affiliated with UVa.'s Madison House. HELP strives to provide callers with an empathetic ear for any sort of issue they wish to discuss and on finding long-term services in the community for callers, such as counseling services, medical services or drug treatment programs.
Barrow was considered one of the top defensive midfielders in the country as well as one of the fastest. He was a member of the Cavaliers' 2006 NCAA championship team and later played for the Chicago Machine of Major League Lacrosse.
The tournament costs $250 per team with a roster limit of 10 people per team for the seven-on-seven tournament.
