The Navy men's lacrosse team is ranked fifth in the Patriot League in Inside Lacrosse's Face-Off Yearbook preseason coaches' poll. Lehigh, coming off its first league championship, is picked to finish first again in the coaches' poll, with Colgate second and Bucknell third.
Long-stick midfielder-defenseman Pat Kiernan was the Midshipmen's lone representative on the Preseason All-Patriot League team. The Mids have failed to make the conference tournament each of the past two seasons, the only times that has happened.

Regional high school lacrosse powers Calvert Hall and Gonzaga (D.C.) will play on March 23 at a neutral site. The Cardinals won last season's Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship, while the Eagles finished 20-1 and No. 2 behind Calvert Hall in the Inside Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic regional rankings.
Bayhawks reacquire Malphrus
The Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse added defenseman Bray Malphrus, a Chevy Chase native and Georgetown Prep graduate, from the player pool.
Malphrus is not new to the Bayhawks -- he played for the team the past two seasons after being acquired before the 2011 season on the waiver wire.
Last season, Malphrus left the team and flew to boot camp in Georgia after the Bayhawks defeated the Hamilton Nationals, 20-7, on May 18.
CBS Sports Network to air 20 MLL games in 2013
Major League Lacrosse announced that CBS Sports Network will feature 20 live, nationally televised games during the 2013 season.
"We're excited to be able to continue and expand our relationship with CBS Sports Network," MLL commissioner David Gross said. "We'll now have one-third of all MLL games on the network, which will really service our fans and their appetite to watch the best lacrosse in the world."
The deal includes an increase of six games from the inaugural season of MLL on CBS Sports Network in 2012 as well as 18 episodes of "Inside the MLL," the league's 30-minute magazine show. The show provides fans with an inside look at teams, players and coaches, including behind-the-scenes video and analysis before each game.
The 2013 MLL schedule is being finalized and will be announced later.
