Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse coach B.J. Johnson has announced the hiring of Dana Cahill as an assistant women's lacrosse coach and the addition of 2012 Mount graduate Nicole Price to her coaching staff.
"I am thrilled to welcome Dana to Mount St. Mary's," Johnson said. "I had the pleasure of coaching Dana for two years, and I am excited to have her on our staff. She was a model student-athlete excelling in the classroom as well as on the field. She was a great goalkeeper and leader at Penn State and her experience as a player will not only benefit our defense and the goalkeepers, but our team as a whole."
Cahill, a Mercy alumna, comes to the Mount after a four-year playing career at Penn State, including being the Nittany Lions' starter in goal for the last two seasons. She registered 361 saves and a 9.80 goals-against average in her career. In her two seasons as a starter, Cahill posted a 22-15 record and helped the team to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2012. She was one of two goalkeepers selected as a Tewaaraton Award nominee in her senior year.

"I am so grateful to B.J. and the Mount for this great opportunity," said Cahill. "I am looking forward to working with the student-athletes and am excited to help them reach their goals for the 2013 season. I can't wait to be a part of the great academic and athletic traditions at the Mount."
Along with being nominated for the national award as a senior, Cahill ranked second in the nation in saves (180), ninth in saves per game (9.47) and 10th in save percentage (.486). A team captain in 2012, she started all 19 games for Penn State on her way to her second American Lacrosse Conference Goalkeeper of the Year award and All-ALC first-team selection. She was also named to the 2012 IWLCA/Under Armour North-South All-Star Game.
Along with her exploits on the field, Cahill also excelled in the classroom all four years. She was named to the ALC Academic Honor Roll all four years and was selected to the Academic All-Big 10 in her final three seasons and was the Big 10 Distinguished Scholar Award recipient in 2010. She was also named to the IWLCA Academic Honor in 2011.
A native of Towson, Cahill graduated from Penn State with a degree in advertising and public relations in May.
Price returns to her alma mater as an assistant coach after playing on the Mount women's lacrosse team for three seasons. She registered 47 goals and 10 assists for 57 points in her career. She is currently pursuing a Master's of Business Administration at Mount St. Mary's.
