Loyola nearly sweeps women's Patriot League postseason awards

In its first season in the Patriot League, Loyola nearly swept the conference's major postseason awards, with Marlee Paton taking Player of the Year honors in the midfield, Annie Thomas on offense and Maddy Lesher on defense, while Jen Adams was named Coach of the Year.

The Greyhounds, who finished 8-0 to win the Patriot League regular season and will host the conference tournament beginning Thursday, also had two additional players on the first team -- Hannah Schmitt on attack and Taryn VanThof at midfielder. Defender Katherine Reinhard made the second team.

Navy attacker Loren Generi also made the first team, while Mids attacker Aimee Gennero, midfielder Jill Coughlin and defender Lizzy Rulan were named to the second team.

Lehigh freshman Allison LeBeau earned Rookie of the Year honors, keeping the Greyhounds from taking all of the major awards.
