No. 1-ranked and undefeated Maryland had six student-athletes selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region team, announced Tuesday. Seniors Katie Schwarzmann (Century), Alex Aust, Iliana Sanza (St. Paul's) and freshman Taylor Cummings (McDonogh) were all named to the All-South Region first team, while sophomore Brooke Griffin (South River) and freshman Alice Mercer (Century) earned second-team honors.

Schwarzmann, who earned her second straight Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year honor Monday, was named to the first team All-South Region for the fourth time at Maryland. A native of Sykesville, Md., Schwarzmann became only the third player in league history to earn four career All-ACC honors. She enters the postseason having tallied 51 goals and 23 assists this year.

Sanza and Aust received their second All-Region selections.

All six Terps, along with the rest of the 128 Division I selections, are eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced May 17.

  • At Navy, senior attacker Jasmine DePompeo was chosen to the All-South Region first team, and sophomore attacker Loren Generi was named to the second team. DePompeo has established a Navy season record with her NCAA-leading 120 points and 6.32 points-per-game average. Her 65 assists are second in the nation and are the sixth-best single-season total in NCAA history. She also has scored 55 goals. DePompeo is the NCAA's active career leader in both points (329) and assists, while her 161 career helpers are the fourth-most in NCAA history.

  • Johns Hopkins placed four players on the IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams. Juniors Taylor D'Amore and Sarah Taylor got first-team honors, while junior Sammy Cermack and freshman Dene' DiMartino were named to the second team. The Blue Jays' four all-region selections match the program's Division I record (since 1999).

  • Loyola junior Marlee Paton and sophomores Annie Thomas (John Carroll) and Taryn VanThof were selected to the IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team, while sophomore Hannah Schmitt and freshman Maddy Lesher were honored on the second team.

  • Georgetown senior Sophia Thomas (Maryvale Prep) was chosen to the IWLCA All-South Region second team.

Bernhardt and the Terps' defense limited reigning Tewaaraton Award winner Peter Baum to one goal on four shots.
