Georgetown Prep sophomore goalie Joey Altemus has committed to the admissions process at Bucknell, according to Inside Lacrosse.
Last summer he was selected to the Maryland Freestate Games 2014/15 Top 44 team, attended Jake Reed’s Blue Chip Camp and played in the Baltimore Summer Kickoff, UP Lax and the Brine Shootout, for both Georgetown Prep and Blackwolf.
This fall, he attended University of Maryland Invitational, UP Lax and the Philly Invitational. Altemus, who also plays varsity hockey, considered Loyola, Lehigh and Richmond as well.

Barile, Williams to Temple
Rachel Barile (Fallston) and Brooke Williams (C. Milton Wright) have signed to join Temple starting in spring 2014.
Barile won a state championship with Fallston as a junior, helping the team to a 10-1 record. Her father, Frank, played lacrosse at Towson State, while brothers Matt and Ben play football for Wesley.
Williams recorded 46 total points as a junior in helping lead her team to a 14-5 finish and a conference title. She earned second-team all-county honors as an attacker. Williams is also an accomplished field hockey player as well as a very accomplished student, having earned scholar-athlete honors all four years.
Matthews, Ward sign to play for Va. Tech
Virginia Tech announced the signing of Ellie Matthews (Atholton) and Colleen Ward (Arundel) for the 2014 season.
Matthews, a midfielder, earned second-team All-County honors as a junior as well as the Coach's Award. She was also named to The Baltimore Sun watch list every season. A three-year member of the M&D club team, Matthews helped her team to a Maryland club championship.
Ward will enter her senior season after being named a team captain as a junior. A two-time All-County Capital second-team honoree, she was named one of the top 40 players in the Baltimore area as a junior. Ward has played club ball for CCLAX for seven years and was a national draw finalist in 2011.
Patriot League TV schedule released
CBS Sports Network has unveiled its Patriot League television schedule for 2013, and several games involving local teams will be aired, in addition to the men's semifinals and championship game.

Bayhawks to hold 'Ham It Up,' clinic
On Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Bayhawks will host the second annual Ham It Up at McGarvey’s Saloon & Oyster Bar in Annapolis. The event will feature members of the 2012 Major League Lacrosse championship team as well as coaches, mascot Hawk-Eye and Santa Claus. The organization will be distributing hams to local families in need and celebrating its 2012 championship.
Also, the Bayhawks will hold a shooting and dodging clinic for youth players ages 8-17 on Feb. 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Athletic Performance Inc. in Gambrills.
