The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced the Division III players who earned All-American honors, and a number of players from area programs and the Baltimore metropolitan area were on the list.
Stevenson junior defenseman Kyle Holechek (Loyola) earned a spot on the first team. He was joined by Tufts freshman attackman Cole Bailey (Severn), Dickinson junior attackman Brian Cannon (Loyola) and Dickinson senior defenseman Peter Zouck (Gilman).
Salisbury placed four players on the second team in senior midfielder Eric Kluge, junior defenseman Josh Martin, senior faceoff specialist Tyler Granelli and freshman short-stick defensive midfielder Preston Dabbs.
Stevenson was represented by two players in junior attackman Chris Dashiell and senior midfielder Peter Green (Hereford), and Washington College was represented by senior attackman Bennett Cord. York sophomore attackman Tyler Hutson (Winters Mill) also made the second team.
Salisbury put two players on the third team in junior goalkeeper Alex Taylor (Glenelg) and junior long-stick midfielder Zeke Smith. Stevenson and Washington were represented by senior defenseman Parker Bratton (McDonogh) and sophomore faceoff specialist Michael Trapp, respectively. Tufts sophomore midfielder Beau Wood (Severn) also earned a spot.
Seven Stevenson players were named honorable mentions. They were: sophomore attackman Mark Pannenton, senior attackman Tyler Reid, sophomore midfielder Billy Burgoyne, senior midfielder Nick Rossi (Towson), sophomore defenseman Callum Robinson, junior faceoff specialist Brent Hiken (Pikesville) and sophomore short-stick defensive midfielder Connor Curro (St. Paul’s).
Washington junior midfielder Hunter Nowicki (Franklin) and Goucher senior goalie Connor Mishaw also earned honorable-mention status.
Players from the Baltimore area who were named honorable mentions included Virginia Wesleyan junior attackman Nick Pappas (South River), Gettysburg sophomore attackman Robby Maddux (St. Paul’s), Washington and Lee sophomore attackman Garrett Paglia (Gilman), Cabrini senior long-stick midfielder Andrew Kvech (Mount St. Joseph’s) and Susquehanna senior short-stick defensive midfielder Marcus Cheatham (Loyola).Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
