Casey Ancarrow, James Madison, senior, attacker
John Carroll graduate is a spectacular finisher. Ancarrow was named last season's Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and this year's preseason Player of the Year. In the 2012 regular season, she led the CAA in average goals (2.52), was third in average points (3.31) and fourth in draw controls (2.69). On April 13, she tore an anterior cruciate ligament -- her second ACL tear -- and missed the postseason. She redshirted her freshman year after her other ACL tear, then returned the next season to win CAA Rookie of the Year honors. (JMU Athletics /March 24, 2012)
Seven is a lucky number so far this season for Navy’s Jasmine DePompeo, who has tallied as many points in each of the Midshipmen’s first two games.
The two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, DePompeo dished out nine assists in wins over Winthrop and Liberty and now holds the school record for career assists with 105. The senior attacker from Sayville, N.Y. came into the season tied with Caitlin Mandrin Hill with 96. She broke the record by dishing out five assists in the season-opening 23-4 win over Winthrop.
DePompeo also stands second on the Navy all-time points list with 223 -- 118 goals and 105 assists -- and needs 72 points to break Erin Rawlick’s record of 294 set in 2010. She also moved into fourth on the all-time goals list led by Rawlick’s 199.
