Raabe, a junior from New Canaan, Conn., was a long-pole midfielder who is now starting at close defense for the Tigers (6-2). He has 36 ground balls for a revamped defense on a team in the hunt for an Ivy League title.
"Derick has been vital in terms of helping our defensive unit jell," coach Chris Bates said. "He covers the ball well and has brilliant speed. His motor just runs — and he communicates well. He has agile feet and the ability to move laterally."
